Tips on Wedding Planning in Anna Maria

If you’re beginning to plan your idyllic Anna Maria Island wedding, here are some tips on how to make sure the big day goes off without a hitch.

Choose a Venue for the Ceremony

Decide whether you’d prefer to get married outside or inside. Think about typical Anna Maria weather conditions at the time of year of your wedding and plan around that. If it’s expected to be a sweltering, humid season, plan to be somewhere with access to air conditioning.

Choose a Venue for the Reception and After Party

If you decide on a beach ceremony, make sure you decide where your reception and after-party will be held. Many beach venues are wonderful for the ceremony but will let you down when it comes to the after-party. So, try one of the options we’ve listed above instead.

Choose a Caterer

If your venue doesn’t include in-house catering, try to find an Anna Maria caterer that specializes in freshly caught and cooked seafood. Florida is famous for its fresh and flavorful fish, so be sure to include this cuisine in your plans for the big day.

Meet with Your Photographer

A wedding on Anna Maria Island is a truly beautiful affair. With the endless opportunities for breathtaking photos on the beach, in front of the sunset, or amidst the palm trees, it’s important you make the most of the gorgeous location. Meet with your photographer to discuss your plans in detail for the wedding photoshoot. Remember, you’ll only get one chance, so plan the timing, location, and style well in advance.

Look into Vacation Rentals for Guests

You’ll need to find excellent Anna Maria rentals for you and your guests. It’s ideal if all of the wedding party can stay in the same general vicinity. You may want to find a luxurious hotel, or you may prefer a series of villa-style rentals. Our wide range of choices will have the perfect option for a wedding of any size and budget.

Plan the Lead-up to the Wedding

Make sure you’ve chosen some specific excursions in the lead-up to the wedding. Once you and your bridesmaids arrive and all of your plans are in place, make sure you see some of what Anna Maria has to offer.

Think about Practicalities

If you’re planning on getting married on the beach, think about the practical things you’ll need on the day – sunscreen, towels, flip-flops, a hand-held fan, and so on. You want to make sure you’re comfortable and cool on the big day, so pack a bag of beach-wedding essentials just in case.
