Where To Rent Your Bikes On Anna Maria Island

Anna Maria Island is a popular Florida vacation spot. Anna Maria Island beachfront condos, cottages, and homes give you easy access to the water. The island also boasts several attractions that you don’t want to miss visiting! The small island does allow cars, but there’s a better way to get around.

There are plenty of bicycle rental shops and some also carry beach equipment. When you’re ready to explore Anna Maria Island by bike, here are the top local rental shops.

Beach Bums

Even the shop’s name makes you think of idle days spent cruising on the beach. The rental shop carries both geared bikes and beach cruisers. The fat tires on the cruiser keep you easily pedaling through the sand. When you’re planning a more adventurous ride, go for a bicycle with gears.

You can also rent tandem bikes and tricycles. Parents will find baby-seats that fit any bike the shop rents. Need a tag-along or bicycle trainer? No problem! You can rent it here. For a small fee, you can have the equipment delivered to your rental home.

The shop is open 7 days a week from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

AMI Adventure Rentals

Anyone that needs to rent children’s bikes should head over to AMI Adventure Rentals. However, bicycles aren’t the only equipment you’ll find here. Want to take a tour of the island or go on a paddle boarding excursion? You can sign up for one at the shop. Almost anything you need to enjoy and explore the beach, you can rent here.

The family-owned business also has golf carts and cabanas for rent. With a current license, you can even rent a boat during your stay on the island. All of the accessories necessary for a safe adventure are here, including helmets and baby seats.

AMI Adventure Rentals is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. throughout the week and weekend. You can also take advantage of their free delivery and pickup option.

Ringling Bicycles

Another family-owned and operated shop in Bradenton, Ringling Bicycles gives you the option of renting or buying one of their bikes. You can find almost any style of bike from cruisers to road and mountain bikes. They also have tricycles if you’re a little unsure about balancing on two wheels.

The helpful employees will even install extra gear like clipless pedals if you bring it with you. Along with a great staff, there’s another reason to rent a bike here. The shop is close to the island’s bird sanctuary. Established in 1988, the sanctuary rescues and rehabilitates the area’s local and migratory birds.

You can rent bikes 7 days a week, Monday – Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Hours are shorter on Sundays from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Due to their proximity to the wildlife sanctuary, it’s recommended that you reserve your bikes ahead of time.

Biking Around Anna Maria Island

You’re not limited to strictly beach excursions. Anna Maria Island has several bike paths that cross the area. Bradenton Beach has five miles of bike lanes and paths that connect to an additional 50 miles of trails across the island!

When you want to take a break from pedaling, the island’s public trolleys come with bike racks. Strap your bike down and enjoy a ride on a trolley.

You do want to pay attention to traffic laws on main streets. Follow the bike lane and use signals to indicate when you’re turning.
