Check Out These Events

If you’re considering staying in one of our Anna Maria Island vacation rentals this Christmas season, you might be concerned about not having access to your family traditions. However, there are tons of fun holiday events going on around the island, so you can still get your Christmas cheer.

For instance, the city of Bradenton on the mainland holds an incredible annual Christmas parade every year, which brings tons of Jeeps decked out in holiday lights through Anna Maria Island, St Armands Circle, Siesta Key, and more. This event will be taking place on December 4th, 2021, starting at 6:30 p.m.

If you’re in town a bit earlier, consider coming out to Bradenton Beach to enjoy the lighting of the tree on November 20th! There’s no better way to kick off the holiday season than by lighting the Christmas tree, which is why this is one of the most popular things to do on Anna Maria Island.

St Armands Circle will be holding a Holiday Night on December 3rd, full of fun shopping and dining opportunities. Come out to support the most incredible local businesses, see beautiful Christmas lights all around you, and learn more about the fascinating past of this area.

Finally, if you want to get active this holiday season, consider joining the Sarasota Christmas Glow Run 5K on December 18th! You won’t have to worry about running in the cold since you’re vacationing in sunny Florida, so instead, you’ll get to enjoy a stunning view of the Sarasota area while you make your way around town in the warmer weather. Plus, you’ll get to run through an incredible Christmas-themed course!

Family Activities

We’ve already talked about a few of the fantastic Christmas celebrations happening on Anna Maria Island this holiday season. However, there are tons of activities that you can enjoy with your family all year long! Since the weather on Anna Maria Island is warm even in the wintertime, you can enjoy getting outside and spending time in nature with your loved ones.

Of course, you can spend some time on the beach. Not only can you relax on the sand or splash around in the water, but you can also take advantage of the many water sport opportunities here. Go for something calm like stand-up paddleboarding or pick a more exciting adventure like kayaking, canoeing, or jet skiing.

You can also get outside by cycling or riding a golf cart around the island to explore the beautiful nature around you. If you head over to the mainland, there are quite a few nature preserves that let you hike and explore some of the most beautiful outdoor conditions that Florida has to offer.

If you’re interested in shopping, there’s plenty of that on Anna Maria Island, too. Bradenton Beach is home to Historic bridge Street, which offers all kinds of unique shops and boutiques as well as some of the incredible dining opportunities we’ve already discussed. If you’re on the north side of the island in the city of Anna Maria, consider a trip to Pine Avenue, where you’ll find quaint boutiques and close proximity to the beach.

Beaches

Of course, no trip here would be complete without spending time on the beaches in Anna Maria Island! This island has three main beaches for you to choose from: Bayfront Park, Manatee Public Beach, and Coquina Beach.

Bayfront Park is located in the city of Anna Maria and gives you the option of either staying on land or getting into the water. Not only can you enjoy the beach from here, but there’s also a nearby park and playground for your kids to enjoy. There are plenty of opportunities for showing, wildlife viewing, fishing, and more.
